Bio

Mariel was born in a small town in Norway, lived in England, Latvia, Italy, New York and is now residing in Los Angeles, CA.

She has always been a performer, as a child she entertained family and neighbors with various shows from plays, to fashion shows, dance performances and so on. She soon formed a Spice Girls cover group with her best friends. Then, she began to compete in talent competitions, participated in high school musicals and plays. Never losing her passion for the arts.

Enrolling in NYFA (New York Film Academy), was the best decision she made. Never having felt so terrified, yet never more at home. She continued to attend the NYFA and transferred to the Los Angeles branch. Her love for being in front of the camera, and constant yearning to create art, soon brought her into the modeling world.

Mariel believes in the beauty of diversity, even in the characters she plays, “I love that in acting you get the rare chance to be anyone you want, explore the human instincts and psyche. It’s such an intimate and personal experience. Discovering sides of you while not being judged allows you to grow. This form of expression, telling a story, affecting people, making them laugh or cry, is such a powerful tool… and I want to use it”.

I love traveling, meeting new people, challenges, hard work, raising awareness, education, liberation, inspiration, creation, making a change, helping the less fortunate and being spontaneous. “I was never one to dream small, when you have a big imagination, well that’s what happens you dream big”.

Roles :

I would love to play someone who’s an oddball – personality with a lot of depth, multiple layers and complexity. The more difficult the character is to understand, the more interesting. I like characters that are intriguing, the ones that have a twisted edge. No limits.
